ad coelum refers to a legal doctrine on land ownership that indicates whoever's is the soil, it is theirs all the way to the skies/heavens above and all the way to the core of the earth/hell below. A central tenet of our winemaking philosophy is that a grapevine possesses the land it sits upon and lays claim to the soils around its roots and the skies above its shoots — and the clusters represent that full soil-plant-air continuum. The resultant wine is one that strives to be the most faithful expression of that unique vine-terroir complex.
Farmed at the prestigious Atlas Peak and Pritchard Hill sub-regions of Napa Valley at 1500ft elevation, the 2018 ad coelum Peak is a rich, structured Cabernet that embraces generous mouthfeel, luscious dark fruit and mountain tannins, this wine is great to drink now and will cellar for extended time.
